This Privacy Notice explains how Cynira, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("Cynira," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects personal information when you use the Cynira application and related services. This Notice applies to individuals age 18 or older who use Cynira in the United States.
Account information (name/display name if provided, email, phone, credentials, preferences); information you provide during use (intake responses, check-ins, conversation content, goals and preferences, questionnaire responses and scores, information you select for a summary, support requests); voice information if you use voice input (audio is processed to generate text and is not retained after transcription except for a short technical processing period; we do not use raw audio, voiceprints, or transcripts to train external or general-purpose AI models); location information only if you choose a location-based feature (optional, no continuous background tracking, you may enter a city/state/ZIP instead); and device/technical information (device type, OS, app version, IP address, crash reports).
To create and maintain your account; provide intake, check-in, conversation, screening, summary, and navigation features; save and display your history and user-controlled summaries; respond to support requests; maintain safety, security, and reliability; meet legal obligations; and, only if you opt in, improve the Services using de-identified and aggregated app-use information.
Cynira uses AI to process information you provide so it can generate responses, summaries, and other requested features. Cynira does not use your identifiable conversations, intake responses, questionnaire responses or scores, crisis/safety content, raw audio, voiceprints, or precise location to train external or general-purpose AI models.
With service providers that help operate, secure, support, and improve the Services; if you direct us to share selected information with a named provider or recipient; if required by law or valid legal process; to protect the rights, safety, or security of Cynira, our users, or others; and in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law. We do not automatically share your information with providers, counseling centers, universities, employers, insurers, or family members. We do not sell health information or use health information for targeted advertising.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
We retain account information and content while your account remains active, unless a shorter period applies to specific data. If you request account deletion, we delete or de-identify data from active systems within 30 days; encrypted backups are deleted or overwritten within 90 days. Identifiable safety-event logs are retained for up to 90 days, then deleted or de-identified unless longer retention is necessary for an active incident, legal obligation, security investigation, audit, or dispute resolution. We retain consent, authorization, and policy-version records for at least six years.
Subject to applicable law, you may access information associated with your account, request correction, download or export available account information, request deletion, withdraw optional product-improvement consent, change voice-input and location preferences, review sharing history, and withdraw permission for future sharing. Submit requests through Privacy and Consent Preferences in the app, or by contacting cynirasupport@gmail.com.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.
Cynira's direct-to-consumer Services may not be subject to HIPAA. If Cynira provides Services on behalf of a HIPAA-covered entity or business associate under an applicable agreement, that organization's HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices may apply to that specific deployment.
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the Services or by email.
